| 説明 | Ah Pack also spent the rest of his life at Seacliff. There Truby King wrote in great detail of Pack’s physical characteristics, mentioning his height, weight, pulse, abdomen and more. In particular, he mentions that Ah Pack’s head was ‘very badly formed’. King also spoke to a missionary, who apparently was able to speak to Ah Pack, according to whom Ah Pack was ‘very dull and stupid and says nothing intellible’. To be fair, there are many Chinese dialects and it is possible that the translator and Ah Pack found themselves unable to communicate. It may well be that the missionary simply did not understand the particular dialect Ah Pack spoke.
