| 説明 | A surviving part of Warwick's medieval walls. This is the Westgate entrance to the town of Warwick.from the sideThe West Gate is a Grade I listed building dating to at least the late 14th century. It might incorporate an earlier structure from at least 1129. It was extended west and a tower was added in the early 15th century. Ground floor has point arches either end of a ribbed vault. First floor chapel restored 1863 - 1865 by G G Scott. Who made various alterations and changes. Including refurbishment of the interior.Late C14, perhaps incorporating earlier structure and on the site of a gate extant from at least 1129. Extended west and west tower added early C15. A part of the medieval town defences. Ground floor has pointed arches either end of ribbed vault. First floor chapel extensively restored 1863-5 by G G Scott who redesigned the windows, rebuilt parapet walks, added flying buttresses and refurnished the interior.
