説明 | Mrs. MacSwiney, widow of the late Terence MacSwiney on a visit to the United States would appear to have attracted quite a crowd. There are plenty of uniforms in evidence, lots of people, lots of taxis but finding Mrs. MacSwiney will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Anybody spot the/a dog?Terence James MacSwiney had only died on 25 October 1920, just over a month later (on 4 December) his widow and his sister (Mary MacSwiney) arrived at pier 60 on the North river, New York aboard the White Star liner Celtic. Urged to make the trip by Arthur Griffith to bring focus to the 'Irish Question'. Muriel MacSwiney (nee Murphy) had one child - Máire MacSwiney. Mary MacSwiney took on her brother's Dáil seat.Photographers: VariousCollection: Irish Political Figures Photographic CollectionDate: 4 December 1920.
