| 説明 | I went to talk with Faustin the president of Muganga displaced persons camp. We have known each other since the beginning of 2007 more or less when the camp was first set up by Faustin and others who had fled Ngungu. I wanted to get a feeling of whether people were leaving the camps to return home. In 2008 the camp, one of four around Goma, had 28,000 people this went down to about 19,000 in March 2009 and has been stable since then. It seems that the majority of people are afraid to return either fearing that the fighting between the Conglese government and Rwandan Hutu FDLR will lead to reprisals against their villages or because they feel that the Congolese rebel groups CNDP is still controlling the areas of returns. I met many new displaced who had walked up to two days from Walikale to flee the FDLR. |
