| 説明 | The sunset on Stanley park and the sea plane harbor, as seen from the Vancouver Convention center. I took this picture while attending the OHBM2017 conference. I didn't use a tripod, and I slightly underexposed the picture, as an artistic choice.I postprocessed the photo heavily using darktable. I was interested in the sky and the light. I toned down the top and bottom (sea) part of the picture (with a "exposure" filter, and a "tone curve", both using masks). I increased the contrast in the center of the image with an "equalizer" filter with "clarity" preset, and softened the top part of the sky with another "equalizer" filter. I used a combination of the "color correction" filter and split toning to push shadows toward a blue nearing turquoise, and the highlights towards red. I used split toning in addition to color correction, because it preserves black better. I use a "spot removal" to remove some spots of light in the sky scrappers. Finally, I used a "soften" module in the center of the image, in the light part of the clouds, and in the light part of the sea, to create the highlights of the picture.Beyond the technicalities, I think that the crucial part of the postprocessing where: darkness on the top and bottom, highlights in the middle (the soften filter is pronounced), and split-toning to have contrasted blue/red colors. |
