| 説明 | After we visited the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, we headed back in the direction of Place Louis Pradel, and started to walk towards the Parc de la Tête d'Or. I had time to have a closer look at all the bronze sculptures in the square.Place Louis-PradelPlace Louis-Pradel is a square located in the 1st arrondissement of Lyon . Recently created, it connects the city center, town hall and Place des Terreaux with the quays of the Rhone.It is attached to the Croix-Rousse hill (north façade) and located at the northern end of the Rue de la République . Its south facade overlooks two monuments, the Opera with its modern dome designed by Jean Nouvel and the entrance to the town hall which borders the Place de la Comédie .On the other side, it opens largely on the quays of the Rhone by an esplanade on which are several sculptures:Le Soleil : modern fountain facing the Opera by Ipoustéguy ;Pyramid of the History of Lyon : a sculpture symbolizing the Lyonnais, between the Opera and the slopes of the Croix Rousse and facing the Rhone due to Ipoustéguy ;Effigies of Louis Pradel and Louise Labbé , works of the sculptor Ipoustéguy ;Sculpture The Skater due to the sculptor Caesar .This square was pierced in the dense urban fabric of the Presqu'ile during the works of the metro , by widening of the street Puits-Gaillot . The creation of this square was made necessary by the decision to move the metro into the structure of the new Morand bridge 3 . It was also an opportunity to build an underground car park, the Opéra car park.In 1977 , when it was not yet equipped, 4 it was named after Louis Pradel, mayor of Lyon, for nearly twenty years - from 1957 to 1976 - and successor to Édouard Herriot, Even long ruled the city of Lyon. During his various mandates, several notable achievements are worth noting:The district of La Duchère, modern district on the heights of the district of Vaise ;The Fourviere tunnel and the exchange center of Perrache station ;The rose garden of the Parc de la Tête d'Or ;The district of La Part-Dieu with its shopping center and library;The metro of Lyon with pedestrian streets the street of the Republic and the street Victor Hugo .The Place Louis-Pradel became entirely pedestrian under the mandate of Michel Noir , within the framework of the Plan Presqu'île.This place has also become a world skate spot. |
