| 説明 | The baths were on my 'must-see' list and we made a special effort to get there. During my visit I discoverd I'm not a thermal bath type-of-person! Lounging in the warm waters was strangely energy sapping. On coming out all I wanted to do was have a sleep! The jump from the hottest pool (40 degrees) to the cold plunge pool (13 degrees) was a jolt but the whole experience made me feel exhausted.The Art Nouveau complex is a stunning cathedral to the practice of 'taking-the-waters' but is somewhat manicured and does not feel like a throw-back to the 1900's but rather a film set. I suspect the steam and moisture force a constant schedule of maintenace, thus robbing it of the stresses of age. The exception were a number of the hot water sprouts which had calcified over many years of spewing mineraled water. The sculptured faces had unintended lamb-chop beards! |
