説明 | In Dijon for a morning walking tour of the city. We had free time at lunchtime. We arrived before 10am, and had to leave by 2pm that day. Dijon Market Hall - it was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who was born in Dijon (more famous for the Eiffel Tower).Les Halles MarketIf the ironwork throughout the Les Halles covered market in Dijon, France, reminds you of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, there is good reason. Gustave Eiffel, a native son of Dijon, designed the market in the 19th century. One of France’s largest and best-known markets, Les Halles comes to life every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with an incredible selection of meats, candies, cheeses and, of course, fruits and vegetables along with ready-to-eat pastries .The hall is on the following roads: Rue Claude Ramey, Rue Odebert, Rue Bannelier and Rue Quentin.mural on Rue Odebert by Dominique Taraval in 1988 |
