| 説明 | The University of Tokushima was established as a national university in 1949. It consists of three major campuses and has about 7,900 students and about 1,900 staff members.The mission of the University is to contribute to enhancing mankind's culture and welfare by promoting academic studies, and to inherit our outstanding science, technology, and culture. This University is open to the whole world to create a rich and peaceful society for the future.On Shinkura Campus, the Administrative Head Office in which the President and the other members of the Board of Executive Directors work everyday is located near the scenic yacht harbor in front of Tokushima Prefectural Office. In addition, Office for Regional Collaboration and International Exchange (Nichia-Kaikan) has a gallery, International Student Center, Tokushima Student Center of the Open University of Japan and dormitory for international students and scholars.On Josanjima Campus, close to the mouth of the Yoshino River, there are two Faculties (Integrated Arts and Sciences, and Engineering) and two Graduate Schools (Human and Natural Environment Sciences, and Advanced Technology and Science), and Institute of Technology and Science. Affiliated with Center for University Extension, Center for Advanced Information Technology, Intellectual Property Office, and University Library.On Kuramoto Campus, at the foot of Mt. Bizan, there are three Faculties (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences), and four Graduate Schools (Medical Sciences, Oral Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Nutrition and Biosciences), and Institute of Health Biosciences. As for the affiliated facilities, we have University Medical and Dental Hospital affiliated with Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, Institute for Enzyme Research, Institute for Genome Research, Radioisotope Research Center, Institute for Animal Experimentation affiliated with Health Bioscinences, Institute for Medicinal Resources affiliated with Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the University Library Kuramoto Branch. This campus conducts research on advanced medical treatment as well as education and life science as a medical center. |
