説明 | This is a live laser fluorescence photograph of the Pentax DA* 55mm 1.4 SDM lens, no overlay tricks or post-coloration.The lens was front illuminated with a sharp, intense 'laser line' from a 405nm violet diode laser, sent straight through the Pentax lens. The lens elements fluoresce with different colors, since they consist of different kinds of optical glass. All 9 glass elements are present, just as in the drawing of the Pentax datasheet. Number 5 and 6 are glued together to form one bulky dispersion correction lens. Some antireflection coatings fluoresce more intense than the glass they're coated on.The actual shape of the glass elements must differ from this view, since both the laser beam and the camera view are subject to refraction as they go deeper into the lens. The lens is just designed to appear like a straight barrel for the entering light; in fact it has a waist in the center. The camera was set to f/22 and 2 minutes exposure; the fluorescence is very faint, but can be seen with the eye. |
