Slick scam.Some background, blatantly stolen from the Internet: "Building 25 is one of the few remaining structures of the once flourishing rubber industry in Naugatuck that had its beginnings with the discovery of the vulcanization of rubber by Charles Goodyear. Originally known as the Goodyear India Rubber Glove Company, the company later was known as the United States Rubber Company and then Uniroyal. Building 25 served as the central office for the footwear division of the factory that at one time covered a large part of the downtown area. The building has fallen into disrepair despite efforts of the Naugatuck Historical Society to preserve the last vestige of what was once the town's largest employer. The Society has plans to turn Building 25 into a museum dedicated to the history of the rubber industry." |
