Manuel Bulnes, commandant of the Peruvian Marine Corps, during a ship’s tour as part of Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium 2017 (PALS-17). PALS-17 brings together senior leaders of allied and partner militaries to focus on key aspects of amphibious operations, capability development, crisis response and interoperability. Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is on a routine patrol, operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance warfighting readiness and posture forward as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
