| 説明 | This was a first time that I managed to capture reflections in the polished faces. However, I had not noticed that someone had drawn, with marker, some features on the faces until I viewed the photographs in Adobe Lightroom.In December 2003 a sculpture commemorating the volunteers from last summer's Special Olympics was unveiled yesterday in the gardens behind Dublin Castle. The sculpture can be best described a reinterpretation of the Special Olympics logo, surrounded by the names of 30,000 volunteers engraved on bronze plaques. A friend of mine was, originally from India, really pleased to see his wife’s name included … he had been unaware of the sculpture until I showed him a photograph of the plaques.Special Olympics is an international organisation dedicated to providing sport opportunities for individuals with a learning disability.In June 2003, the Special Olympics World Summer Games were held in Ireland. This was the first time the Summer Games were held outside the United States. 160 delegations involving 7000 athletes and 3000 coaches from all over the world participated in 21 sports.Team 2003 comprised individuals and families who volunteered their time, talents and skills to ensure the wonderful success of these Games. Each member of Team 2003 is recognised here.Their legacy remains in the positive attitude throughout the island of Ireland towards individuals with a learning disability. |
