| 説明 | The VOLTA NY Art Fair held their much coveted opening party at the TribecaGrand Hotel last Thursday night in collaboration with the Guggenheim YoungCollectors Council this evening with luminaries from across the art world. With liberal quantities of Marilyn Manson¹s eponymous, Mansinthe, andGrolsch beer as drinks sponsor and Art Review as the media partner, theevent was an all-round success topped off by the funky tunes of DJ, GregBoust, from Le Baron, Paris. Despite the crush at the door and concerns thatthe fire department would leave the crowd waiting outside as capacity wasexceeded, the revellers saw in the first big party of Armory Week with styleand gusto begging the question: depression, what depression? The event was held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel as part of a largercollaboration whereby VOLTA NY and Tribeca Grand Hotel brought togethercurators Natalie Kovacs and Victoria Brooks to curate a VOLTA NY SpecialProject entitled, A New Stance for Tomorrow. This three-fold projectincludes a domed installation and performance in the Sanctum of the TribecaGrand Hotel, a series of short films inspired around, and including thefilms, of Charles and Ray Eames in the Grand Screening Room, as well as acinepod installation onsite at VOLTA NY. These three projects can be viewedfor the duration of the VOLTA NY Fair screening times, performance hoursand more information on the individual projects available on request.Chris de Angelis, VOLTA Production Manager, with Creixell Espilla-Gilart,VOLTA Project Manager & PRLauren Serantoni, Tradeshow Operations, Merchandise Mart Properties, Chrisde Angelis, VOLTA Production ManagerBryan Kepple (left) talking to a friendMark Rappolt from ArtReview with a friendNoam Gonick with a friendleft: Monya Rowe, VOLTA NY exhibitor, with friendsChris de Angelis, VOLTA Production Manager, Creixell Espilla-Gilart, VOLTAProject Manager + PR, Bryan KeppleNatalie Kovacs with friendsSteve Cole from Basil Hayden with his partnerCator Sparks and friendsMarc Spiegler, Art Basel Co-Director, Maike Cruse, Art Basel CommunicationsManager, with Amanda Coulson, VOLTA Executive Director and Paul Judelson,VOLTA NY ExhibitorCreixell Espilla-Gilart, VOLTA Project Manager & PR, with Spanish curatorPaco Barragán |
