| 説明 | We got some last minute tiks to the rodeo cookoff last night,, courtesy of Jack Daniels. Every year, Houston goes back to it's wild west days and holds one of the largest rodeos in the country and before the event kicks off, a BBQ cookoff is held in the parking lot of Reliant Stadium. The cookoff is held for three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) before the start of the rodeo and everybody and their mothers seem to be there. There are thousands of people and hundreds of company tents and you must have an invitation to get inside the private parties. Once inside the private parties you are given a wrist band and have access to all you can eat and drink and dance. This year because of the bad economy the invites were hard to come by. I been attending the cookoff off and on for the past 25+ years. It's fun to hang out with friends, grab drinks, and go walk around and people watch of which I love doing. On the way back to the buses you pass the carnival rides and all their wonderful foods. Last night we indulged in fried oreo cookies and funnel cakes. |
