説明 | The Age of Bronze (L'age d'airain) is a bronze statue by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The figure is of a life-size nude male. When first exhibited at the 1877 Salon in Paris, Rodin was criticized for having made the statue by casting a living model, a false charge that was vigorously denied. This charge actually benefited Rodin though, because people were so eager to see this for themselves. Copies of the Age of Bronze can be found in several museums around the world, including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin, The Rodin Museum in Philadelphia, The Fine Arts Museum in Budapest, Hungary, The Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio, and the V&A in London.Auguste Rodin (born François-Auguste-René Rodin; 12 November 1840 – 17 November 1917) was a French artist, most famous as a sculptor. He was the preeminent French sculptor of his time, and remains one of the few sculptors widely recognized outside the visual arts community. |
