説明 | Native, perennial, shortly rhizomatous rush. Stems are terete, 55–115 cm tall, 1.3–5.5 mm diam., soft, grey-green and often glaucous, with 40–115 striations and an interrupted pith. Cataphylls are abaxially yellow-brown, often pink-tinged, to red-brown at base, adaxially silvery to golden brown. Flowerheads are diffuse, 6–14 cm long; flowers are numerous, solitary or occasionally loosely clustered; lowest involucral bract 10–40 cm long, longer than the flowerhead. Tepals are shorter than the capsule, straw-brown, with broad hyaline margins. Flowering is mostly in spring and early summer. Germination is mostly in summer and autumn. Widespread in western divisions in seasonally or permanently wet situations. |
