| 説明 | This is the first day of being a pair for these great blue herons and they are showing their bond with the courting behavior of bill clasping, where they grasp each other's bill. As they become aroused or excited during courtship the feathers on their neck and upper body stand out perpendicular to their body, as in this photo.The herons were very busy building the nest--with the male making many trips bringing a stick to the nest. The male presents the stick to the female who places it in the nest.
