| 説明 | This must be seen on black.The apoxyomenos named "The Athlete of Croatia" is on display at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence.The statue is displayed inside a lightbox!So the white background is not due to postprocessing but to the fact that the walls were actually shining light.The ἀποξυόμενος ("scraper") represents an athlete in the act of scraping his body from dust, sweat and oil after activity.This bronze sculpture is from the 1st century BC; it was found in bits in 1999 in the waters off the island of Losinj in Dalmatia and restored.It will be on display at Palazzo Medici Riccardi up to the end of January 2007. |
