説明 | So on a little bit of a whim tonight I started wondering if you get any better performance at high ISO if I drop the resolution on the camera. I've heard of some manufacturers (Samsung I think?) using this trick to boost their otherwise poor performance. The idea being that when you drop the resolution, you are (hopefully) allowing each pixel to take up more space on the sensor itself, thus lowering noise.I don't know if what I did is necessarily the best test, but what do you real photographers out there think? Do you notice a difference? Both of these images are shown at 100%. The photo on the left is at "medium" resolution and the photo on the right is the full raw exported to JPEG with Digital Photo Pro. To me it looks like the photo on the left is actually less noisy, however, obviously there is less data and detail than in the full resolution photo on the right. Thoughts? |
