説明 | Native, cool-season, perennial herb 5–55 cm tall. Stems are simple or few-branched, cottony and minutely glandular., usually arising from a basal rosette. Rosette leaves (when present) are obovate to oblanceolate and mostly 20–90 mm long; stem leaves are similar but narrower with attenuate apices, becoming ± linear; with fine cottony hairs. Flower heads are solitary, depressed-hemispherical and 20–35 mm diam. Involucral bracts are in 5–8 rows, usually pale or lemon-yellow, rarely golden-yellow. Florets with corollas 4.5–7.5 mm long, the outermost series with some female-only. Achenes are narrowly cylindrical, 2–3.5 mm long, 4-ribbed and with a pappus of fine bristles. Usually grows in reasonably well-drained open forest to heathy woodlands, rarely grasslands or heathland, from near sea-level to about 800 m above sea level. |
