説明 | c/n C1/0776Built in 1952 as a Chipmunk T.10 for the Royal Air Force with the serial WP903. She was the Chipmunk in which HRH Prince Charles learned to fly, completing his first solo at Bassingbourn on 14th January 1969. During that time WP903 was painted overall red and had an additional beacon fitted on the canopy. She was sold off in January 1974 and civil registered as G-BCGC in March that year. She became part of the Culdrose Gliding Club at HMS Seahawk / RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall and remained with them until sold to a private owner in December 1996. She has since been restored to the condition and colour scheme she wore for her Royal training duties and is seen during the Chipmunk 70th Anniversary event.Old Warden, Bedfordshire, UK.22nd May 2016. |
