| 説明 | F8s had heated leading edges for de-icing. The rectangular panel below and ahead of the starboard half of the wing was often painted black in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Did they wear out somehow and need to be replaced often? Was this an elegant way to dump a few more ergs? There is no symmetric black painting on the port side. With the air to air refueling probe on the port side its easy to imagine all sorts of asymmetric detail design...IMG_6061 |
