The picture on my mind of a Vietnamese lady wearing a typical conical hat from that country and rowing a boat standing at one end of the craft now seemed to unravel itself! This is the boarding the small row boat to Turtle Island- each could seat up to six to eight people, and with fifty of us in our group, quite a few of them were needed. And all of them were rowed by ladies. Here a boat lady positions her craft for her next load of passengers. (Mekong Delta, Vietnam, Nov. 2016) |
