| 説明 | Sixteen things about me? You may be sorry .......1) I'm not going to tag 16 more, so don't worry about it, my friends. The IT stops here.2) I type 2 finger style and use WAAAAY too many of these: !!!!!!!!!!!!! (hang on, I'm just getting warmed up)3) I'm drinking some English tea right now. It was sent to me from Liverpool by one of my oldest and dearest Flickrfriends. (and it's helping me to "warm up")(thanks, Alison)3b) I like the number 3, so shoot me!3c) No, don't shoot me. I'm a double Gemini and 3 is the Twin's number.4) I can remember some things about being 4. Even then I enjoyed words and learning to say "mazageene" & "pasketti". At 4 my son was fascinated with the "air seginder" in the window.5) At this age I had a mystical connection to Mother Nature. I would sit spellbound by dew on the blades of grass in the early morning. I knew the 'essence' of Nature and resisted scientific explanations. 5b) My enthusiasm for learning didn't 'sit well' with my Kindergarten teacher, Miss Fru. She tossed me out of class for a spontaneous poetry recital.6) I hated 1st grade. Like for any other overly enthusiastic lad (who knew about attention deficit disorder?) sitting in a desk quietly for hours was torture. I learned to read very quickly. That gave my teacher one thing to like about me.7) Seven was a better year. I had adjusted somewhat to school and still maintained a connection to things about which science was clueless.8) I forgot how to stare at grass and be mesmerized. 10 games of baseball each Summer day with the neighborhood gang filled in pretty well.In terms of the child development I learned later this was a normal progression.9) Enough of this chronology stuff. I think baseball is "the perfect game". I still play catch with my son. I coached his 10 yr. old team to a city championship. He was the shortstop. He made one error all year.10) My son is now 21. I'm very proud of his character. His accomplishments too. He's a hard worker.11) I'm surprised I haven't given you really silly items yet! Have patience. I'm trying!12) Flickr is as much a social network for me as a way of honing photographic skill. I appreciate y'all.13)Admission: I've been using this winter's weather excesses as a sort of tease. I have clothes for -40* and bought a Honda snowthrower last Fall. I may move away from Wisconsin Winters but not because I think they are oppressive.14) I have "fled" mid winter twice. Once to Hawaii and once to India. Neither trip was due to the weather.15) I found European History more fascinating but chose to take American History courses on the way to a degree. I want to understand that to which I have a responsibility. I think social justice is every person's responsibility. It is the essence of citizenship and the meaning of patriotism. I found this to be true in the writings of Jefferson, Adams, Paine, and the heroism of Washington and the countless soldiers who fought for principles rather than riches.16) I do not think anyone must agree with me. 16b) I could have been sillier and thus, less boring. |
