| 説明 | Now here is another Saigon classic- the classic French era Saigon post office building. Saigon Central Post Office is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century. It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences. It was constructed between 1886-1891 and is now a tourist attraction. Once again, this picture was shot in almost total darkness in less than ideal conditions, so please excuse the poor image quality. On the other hand, it was taken with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 cell phone, so considering that, I think it has fared pretty well for a cellphone camera. (Saigon/ HCM, Vietnam, Nov. 2016) |
