| 説明 | Fine view of a slightly dilapidated Tolworth Tower at the end of Tolworth Broadway. I understand it has since undergone considerable renovation (and there's now a hotel in the north wing), but in my day Richard Seifert's landmark skyscraper was pretty run-down. In fact, it was so shabby inside we rejected it for our offices and instead set up in an office park just across the A3.I rode the bus to and from work every day, and was the only person I knew in my industry who used public transport on a regular basis. My sales manager had a company car that he used to drive into London for appointments, despite the Tolworth British Rail station being just across the street from our office. You saved a lot of time using the train to get into london, since you didn't have to spend half an hour looking for a place to park, but I knew hardly anyone else who used the train for any reason. That was the high tech business in those days.Most of those buildings along the high street were put up in the thirties. They channeled a frigid wind right down the street that often made waiting for the bus home a rather grueling experience. |
