説明 | Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Yossi Amar, Community President David Bouaziz and Deputy Mayor Geneviève Machery stand atop a riser during the first ever Hanukkah menorah lighting outside the historic Palace of Fontainebleau in the town of Fontainebleau, France on Tuesday, December 28, 2016, the fourth night of Hanukkah. The Palace of Fontainebleau built by French royalty, parts dating to the 1100s and the residence of French monarchs from Louis VII through Napoleon III. The menorah lighting, organized for the first time by Beth Habad Seine et Marne, is part of Chabad-Lubavitch's worldwide Hanukkah campaign that includes 15,000 large public menorahs in more than 90 countries around the world, including in front of landmarks such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, and the Kremlin. The campaign was set into motion by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, in 1973.Credit: Bat Sheva Redondy / Chabad.orgThis photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations for use in reporting on the events captured in the photo.
