[Grey backdoor with window and canyon view; Brown wood shelf on upper wall to right of door.]The Grand Canyon Historical Society [GCHS] held the 4th Grand Canyon History Symposium on the South Rim, Grand Canyon National Park, on November 4-6, 2016.As one of the many events and presentations held during the 4th Grand Canyon History Symposium, was the Historic Kolb Studio Residence Tour. GCHS Board Member Phil Payne conducted an intimate tour of Kolb Studio, home of the famous Kolb brother’s photography studio and residence. During this tour participants went “behind the scenes” to experience the living spaces use by the Kolb family and the darkroom where they worked their magic.GCHS BACKGROUND: Since January 2002, there have been four history symposia, bringing together historians, witnesses to history, park employees, and others with a passion for Grand Canyon history. The presentations from the first three symposiums were assembled into a collection of essays. It is the Grand Canyon Historical Society’s intent to publish the proceedings from this fourth symposium.
