| 説明 | The space shuttle Endeavour and the STS-126 crew landing at Edwards Air Force Base, California after completing a mission to the International Space Station.This morning we were watching the news and saw that the weather in Florida was too bad for the space shuttle Endeavour to land. NASA canceled the Florida landing and redirected the shuttle to Edwards Air Force Base out in the California desert.So we looked at each other and said, "That sounds like fun!" Then we jumped in the car and took off. I thought we would be able to get closer to the landing area than we did, but we weren't that lucky. The MPs came and chased us away from the first place we stopped, which wasn't really all that much better than where I took these photos.The excitement was intense, but the actual performance was severely lacking in my opinion—we were just to far away to clearly see anything. I didn't really see the shuttle until I got home a looked at the photos. I was "shooting blind" since I couldn't see it at all while we were there. (I think it's getting to be time to get new glasses; maybe my photography will improve if I can see what I'm shooting.) Julia was able to see it and she was extremely excited about it.I'm glad we did it, though, so I can quit wondering about how cool it would be to watch the shuttle land.
