| 説明 | American Cold War era Main Battle Tank.With over 15,000 produced, the M60 Patton MBT has unsurprisingly had many variations since arrival in 1960. Although retired from the US military in 1997 they remain in service with several countries throughout the Middle East.This running example of an early M60A1 came from the US Army in Germany and joined the museum in 1993.It is seen in the ‘Tank Park’ during TankFest 2017.‘The Tank Museum’, Bovington Camp, Dorset, UK.24th June 2017The following description of the ‘RISE passive’ variant is from Wkikpedia:-“In 1975, the M60A1(RISE) meaning Reliability Improved Selected Equipment was introduced. Its AVDS-1790-2C diesel engine featured several changes in order to improve service life and reliability: new top-loading air cleaners; stronger cylinders; improved starter, fuel injection lines, and nozzles; and better turbosuperchargers. A new 650 ampere oil cooled alternator, a solid state regulator and new wiring harness with more accessible disconnect were also incorporated into its electrical system. The M60A1(RISE)(PASSIVE), which debuted in 1977, featured passive night vision sights for gunner and commander, a new night vision device for the driver and a deep water fording kit.” |
