| 説明 | This is the Narayanappa Mutt at Kaivara. Kaivara is a small town near Kolar. Narayanappa or Kaivara Thatayya as he is better known is the "Nostradamus" of Karnataka. He was supposedly blessed with the ability to see into the future - courtesy many years of yoga siddhi. Kaivara is not one of those popular well-known places around Bangalore but it is great place to go on a weekend.To go to Kaivara, take Old Madras Road out of Bangalore. Just after Hosakote (keep a watch or u will miss it!), there is a small crossing where you should take the state highway towards Chintamani. Around 9-10 km before Chintamani you will find a arch on the left side leading into Kaivara. Kaivara is 3 kms from this arch.During the long weekend for Deepavali, we tried two one day trips out of Bangalore. One (this one to Kaivara) came off and the other plan to Krishnagiri Dam on Hosur road did not! Absolutely horrendous traffic (1 km in 1 hour!!) ensured we took the next available U turn on Hosur Road back home!This looks so much better Large on Black |
