| 説明 | Railway photography done, I prepare to leave Tbilisi station and put my poor elderly driver guide out of his misery- the poor chap had been bored to death for nearly an hour. But no, Tbilisi station had another surprise up it's sleeve for me. As I prepare to leave, this 4-car e.m.u. train set pulls into Platform 1. I later learned that this is one of the eight e.m.u. (electric multiple unit) train sets introduced in 2009 by the Georgian Railway. These rail car trains are built in China by the CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock at a cost of $US 6mln each. The 3kV dc trains have a maximum speed of 130km/h and each four-car set seats a total of 300 passengers in first and second class accommodation. (Tbilisi, Georgia, Sept. 2016) |
