| 説明 | This geological feature is composed of sediments deposited in a lake during the melting of an ice sheet in the Late Permian 270 million years ago. The base of this cone-shaped structure is composed of reddish sand and dropstones. When the lake drained white sand was blown over it. The brown cap of alluvial clay was deposited in the Piocene about 3 million years ago. Therefore these layers are separated by an unconformity encompassing ~267 million years of time. |
