| 説明 | A consensus amongst the four of us was that the spots were likely to be pavements of subterranean termites. We wanted to reply to Getzin et al's article in PNAS. But what scientifically valid evidence did we have for termites? Very little. We had ethnographic evidence from Martu, our local observations, dated journal papers, three PhD dissertations and more. But little of this information was valid for a reply to PNAS. What to do? We needed on-ground quantitative data. We had to go bush. |
