説明 | This appeal for volunteers has a familiar look about it and from the robust and efficient look of the station and its immediate surroundings yards etc. it would appear that this volunteer enthusiast railway is in good hands and health. Unfortunately it was just closing for the day as I arrived and so could not have a closer look. The five mile line runs between Haworth (home of the Brontes) and Oxenhope. Closed by Beeching in 1962, a preservation societey was formed in the same year and succeeded in opening the line to traffic in a creditable six years. And so a line that was inaugurated in 1867 continues in the present day. Well done those volunteers. |
