| 説明 | The facade of the house dates from 1725-30 (Pevsner). However, the architect Harold Peto believed that a house and garden existed on this location from the time of Edward the Confessor. One day, Peto noticed a lark fly into a chink in the wall of the house, and when he removed the stones there he discovered 'a complete window of four lights dating from about the middle of the 15th century with its stanchion bar and all complete, and only requiring the glass.' |
