説明 | This is a stone row which is part of a complex of stone rows and circles at Auglish, Co. Londonderry. There's possibly a connection to the moon, as there's some quartz which has been deposited around the site. This row also suggests a lunar connection, as it aligns with a notch on the distant horizon. Looking along this row the notch marks the most southerly setting point of the Moon. The problem is there's a few rows here pointing in various directions downhill. Were those rows used for other observations? Is it just a case that if you have enough rows sooner or later one of them will end up pointing at something vaguely interesting? This is why you often need to visit many sites to see if a pattern emerges. |
