| 説明 | This plant grows far from where it originally belong: It comes from Chile, and here we find it in West Germany. The place where I took this photo is special: It's the "Arboretum" of Wuppertal (see de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staatsforst_Burgholz, in German language). The Arboretum is a vast forested area in which they experimented with foreign species of trees (most of the from Asia and the Americas). The idea was to find trees which produce more lumber than their domestic brethren. The experimented started ca. in 1900 and was later ceased; but the trees (including sequoia trees!) are still there and form a large botanical garden which is worth seeing. |
