| 説明 | The iconic Flat Iron building which is often used as a symbol of New York was one of he first buildings in the city to be built with a steel frame necessary for the development of skyscrapers. The stone masonry basically just "sits" on the edge of the steel framework. This building technique is still the basis for modern skyscrapers. The Flat Iron building of 22 storeys was completed in 1902 and it gave its name to the surrounding district of New York City. The building ahs wonderful classical detail if you look at it closely. |
