| 説明 | A late 60s-built FNV/Cobrasma/GE carbon steel train still wearing the old CPTM livery, leaving the Brás station in downtown Sao Paulo, Brazil.About the train: Built by FNV, Cobrasma and General Electric in the late 60s, this train is still under operation by both CPTM in Sao Paulo (as 4400 Series) and SuperVia (as 400 Series) in Rio de Janeiro, being targeted by vandals, angry riders, poor maintenance, overcrowded ridership and every kind of abuse since its initial rollout in both cities. The CPTM trains were overhauled about a decade ago and are in a better shape since then, receiving a better maintenance by the operator and less vandalism by the users. The SuperVia ones, despite being overhauled too, the overhaul process were not so comprehensive and the maintenance is still somewhat negligent, and now they are being retired. But despite all this history of abuse and negligence, these FNV/Cobrasma still have one of the highest MKBF (Mean Kilometer Between Failure) of all CPTM fleet, and probably have similar numbers in Rio de Janeiro too. |
