| 説明 | White swan on Round Pond, Kensington Gardens.I spent Good Friday with my wife, Deryn, taking in the town on a glorious day. We walked along the banks of the Thames and crossed over the Millennium Bridge to the Tate Modern. After an hour we fled the dim under lit galleries and emerged back into the sun. St Paul’s Cathedral was a difficult photographic subject, as a service restricted access to the interior… fair enough, it is a church. While not religious myself, I always find it melancholy when a church is sacrificed to the tourist hoards. After a pub lunch we walked through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens taking in the open green spaces but also Hadid’s Sackler Gallery extension, Princess Diana’s fountain full of kids playing in the water and rush hour on the Serpentine lake where paddle boats vied for water. At Kensington Palace we met both Queen Victoria and William of Orange… or at least their statues. All in all, a wonderful spring day. |
