| 説明 | In the year 2016 the 110th birthday of this very engine can be celebrated. The name of this articulated locomotive is 11 sm which sounds pretty technical. It was built by the company "Maschinenbauanstalt Humboldt A.G." of Cologne. Engine 11 sm spent its entire working life on the steep grades of the Brohltal Eisenbahn. A couple of years ago it was revitalized and is now busy pulling tourist trains which start on the left bank of the river Rhine. From there the line goes all the way up to the plateau of the the Eifel mountains. If you go on this tour I recommend to take your seats in the open car ("cabriolet") which runs in almost every train! |
