| 説明 | Amtrak train number A-4091-20 or the Southwest Chief #4 that derailed west of Cimarron, Kansas was being moved back to Chicago on Sunday, March 20th 2016. This video features the train rolling through Shawnee, Kansas at the Lakecrest Road crossing showing off the damaged sustained from being on its side after derailing. The last 4 cars are where the bulk of the damaged occurred. The derailment was caused by a feed truck hitting the train track hours before the train went through on Monday, March 14th 2016. The accident of the feed truck hitting the rail was not reported by the driver to BNSF.Had it not been for an alert train crew applying the emergency brake when noticing the damaged rail the accident could have been much worse.Photo Taken: 3-20-16 about 2:48 pmPicture ID# 1863 |
