| 説明 | The Super Nationals 2016 show was held in Albuquerque, NM on the weekend of January 29 at the Expo center. There were several featured custom vehicles. These included: “The Imposter” –a 1965 Chevy Impala, “Plymouth Radial Air” –a 1939 Plymouth Pickup sporting an airplane engine, “MR Fusion” –a Radical Hand-built Custom, Stainless Steel Center from a Fusion Machine at Los Alamos, “Infused” – a 1969 Chevy Camaro, “Equadaline” – a 1962 Ford Econoline Truck with 4 Blown Hemi Engines, “Shorebreak” –a radical Hand-Built Woody, “Plum Peachy” – a 1941 Willys, “Uno” – a 1991 Chevy Indie Racing Car, and finally a fully restored 1948 Chevy. There were many other exceptional custom vehicles. Every vehicle in the show had its own story to be told and it was a treat to get to talk to some of the owners and drivers.Henry Winkler (The Fonz) made a personal appearance. Fonzie portrayed a leather-clad greaser, hot rodder and auto mechanic on the TV show “Happy Days” in the 1970’s. I have really enjoyed photographing show vehicles over the past two years. I captured the Super National 2015 Albuquerque show, the 2015 Great American Race in Albuquerque and vehicles driven daily by friends with whom I had the pleasure of working with in the early years of our careers at Sandia National Laboratory. The latter was produced as an annual record of a reunion held since 2010.
