説明 | The eCesys 486 66 system, setup to run NEXTSTEP for Intel v3.2 in early 1994. It had 16MB of RAM and a 700MB SCSI Quantum ProDrive hooked to a DPT-2021 ISA SCSI board. The system was built around a fast JCIS motherboard with ISA, VLB, and the unique WinGine local bus graphics subsystem which provided one of the fastest framebuffers for the graphically intensive NEXTSTEP operating system.I purchased NEXTSTEP Developer v3.2 for $299 at academic discount from my university. Retail for that package was $5999 - for the OS and dev system alone! In 1996, I upgraded the motherboard and processor, first to an AMD 486 DX4 120 and, later, to an AMD 5x86 133 which I ran, overclocked, at 160MHz. |
