| 説明 | So far from the rigors and the tumult of the morning's hike from Longji, our last afternoon in Guangxi Province passed innocuously enough. We spent our few remaining hours in the capital city of Guilin where we wandered aimlessly along the wide avenues and around the dreary bends which stitched the streets together like rough patchwork. As if sacrificed to appease the clamorous gods, we gave up our plans and allowed our capriciousness instead to dictate that path which would first lead us inside a cave, a mountainous aperture whose minders had egregiously replaced its natural ornamentation with artificial kitsch. Our desultory stroll then swept us by a park, full of youthful jollity, and eventually into a massage parlor where a soothing hot shower and a dry massage awaited. With one final heaping of spicy Guangxi victuals, we topped off our satisfying journey and moved on to the railway station for the arduous 12-hour ride to Shenzhen. |
