説明 | Falco amurensis known as Amur Falcon or the Red-footed Falcon is a passage migrant in India. It enters Indian territory from the East, mostly North-East including Nagaland and crosses the peninsulatr India to go on to the East African coast. Its flight from India to Africa is supposed to be the longest non-stop migratory flight. The return trip from Amurland and Mangolia via Africa is believed to involve 22,000 KM, the longest migration flight for any bird!This one was, surprisingly seen in Greater Nicobar Island in the Bay of Bengal. There were at least six individuals around Campbell Bay, Andaman & Nicobar Istands. |
