Foren concebuts com uns espais de natura, amb arbres i plantes que també tenien una funció terapèutica: els pacients i els visitants podien passejar a l'aire lliure, entrar en contacte amb un entorn equilibrat i harmònic que els permetia de trobar la pau i el repòs necessaris.Des d'una perspectiva arquitectònica, els jardins ordenaven i comunicaven els diversos pavellons del Recinte Modernista però, alhora, des del punt de vista sanitari, esdevenien un complement imprescindible a la tasca mèdica duta a terme en el centre.Gardens-Sant Pau's gardens were designed to combine beauty and functionality and conceived as spaces of nature whose trees and plants would also have a therapeutic function, where patiens and visitors could stroll in the open air, in a balanced and harmonious setting that would help them to find the necessary peace and rest. From an architectural point of view, the gardens ordered and connected the various pavilions of the Art Nouveau Site; at the same time, from the healthcare point of view, they came to be an essential complement to the hospital's medical work. |
