説明"Ursula, Lady Putt, died April the 22nd 1674. Possess'd of as much beauty, wit, wisdom, learning and piety as nature, art and grace ever produced; Excelling all in a generous affection to her husband Sir Thomas Putt who dedicated this to her memory""Here lieth the body of Sir Thomas Putt of Combe bart who departed this life June 25th 1686 in the 43rd year of his age"Ursula was a lady in waiting to Catherine of Braganza wife of Charles II. Sir Thomas was Sheriff of Devon in 1673 and first mayor of Honiton in 1685. When he died in 1686 his name was added to his wife's memorial. Sir Thomas founded a school here and left provision to maintain a teacher for "20 poor children".
